Job Responsibilities


 As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial transactions and records of the institution, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to internal controls. Your duties will include:


1. Financial Reporting:


Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Monitor and report on the institution's financial performance, highlighting areas of concern or improvement.


2. Transaction Processing:


Oversee the processing of daily transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.

Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy in transaction records.


3. Regulatory Compliance:


Stay updated on banking regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.

Assist in preparing regulatory reports and submissions as required by regulatory authorities.


4. Internal Controls:


Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the institution's assets and prevent fraud or misappropriation.

Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.


5. Budgeting and Forecasting:


Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Monitor budget performance and provide analysis to support decision-making processes.


6. Financial Analysis:


Conduct financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.

Identify trends, opportunities, and risks to inform management decisions.


7. Collaboration:


Collaborate with other departments, such as risk management and compliance, to ensure alignment of financial activities with organizational goals and objectives.

Provide financial expertise and support to colleagues as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred.
  • Three years and above proven experience working as an accountant in the banking sector or a financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and banking regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial modelling tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
